| 동양 최대의 좌불상(坐佛像)으로 오른손을 위로 들어 손바닥을 펴서 밖으로 향한 모습은 모든 중생을 보호하여 두려움을 없애 주고 평정을 주는 힘을 가진다는 시무외인(施無畏印)을 의미한다. 불상의 대좌(臺座)가 연화좌(蓮花座)인 까닭은 연꽃이 부드럽고 깨끗함으로써 신력(神力)을 나타내어 그 위에 앉아도 꽃이 상하지 않기 때문이다. 또한 묘법(妙法)의 자리를 장엄하게 하는 까닭이며 다른 꽃들은 모두 작아 이 꽃같이 크고 향기가 깨끗한 것이 없기 때문이다. |

| Seat Buddhist statue is the largest statue in oriental countries. The right hand shape and direction of the statue means ‘Si-mu-oye-in’ which has detail meanings of mankind protection and equability. The softness and cleanness of lotus flower makes God’s power prevent form the damage of flower even though the status sits on the flower. This is the reason that Buddhist’s pedestal is lotus flower. Besides, lotus flower makes the pedestal of excellent methods solemn and is the most clean & fragrant and bigger than other flowers. |
